I fed whatever I could afford, which 99% of the time was NY Strip Steak. When I started supplementing it with store bought stuff, I used Dick van Pattens Natural Balance.....( Natural Balance )
Also, Eukanuba makes dogfood that is specifically for German Shepherds, available at Petco.....
Eukanuba is an Ok food but is defiantly not one of the best. If you look at the ingredients you will see corn listed as one of the top ingredients. Foods that are excellent for German shepherd don’t have corn as fillers. A high quality food I use is Wellness and there are about fifteen others that are of this quality. If you care about the health of your dog I would strongly recommend a high quality food. You can visit my web site at www.vomheiss.com for other information that you might find helpful.
I have had GSD most of all my life. I now have two - Duke a 1 1/2 yr old male and Bitte a 2 1/2 yr old female. These dogs only eat raw - with a little bit of kibble. The raw diet has been remarkable. In the past I fed the dogs kibble - they all had skin problems. The raw diet has kept them energenic and trim. I recently took my male to the vet - after he examined the dog - he remarked that the dog was in great shape. When I told him that all they ate was raw - he was stunned. This vet practice was usually against raw diets. Look into it. As in everything else in earth - other then taxes and death - there is a voice for either side.
